Equator Coffees' AeroPress guide for one small 6 oz cup of strong coffee: 18 g at 1:11, a sealed bloom, then a stir and a slow plunge at two minutes.
- place the AeroPress filter in the base and lock it onto the brewer
- rinse the brewer with hot water to wet the filter and remove any paper taste; discard this water before moving forward
- grind 18 g of coffee on a medium-fine setting and pour it into the brewer; place the brewer on a cup or carafe, set both on a scale and tare to 0
- 0:00start the timer and pour 50 g of hot water quickly into the AeroPress to start the bloom; place the plunger into the AeroPress just enough to seal the top so the coffee does not drip out of the bottom50 g
- at 0:30–0:45, remove the plunger and quickly pour the remaining 150 g of water, then place the plunger back in the top to prevent dripping; the coffee continues to brew inside the AeroPress200 g
- 2:00remove everything from the scale, remove the plunger and give everything a five-second stir
- 2:00push the plunger down slowly, aiming for 30 seconds, until you hear a hissing sound
Equator call for an AeroPress filter, rinsed in the brewer with hot water and the rinse water discarded. The guide writes its water temperature as "just off boil at 205°" without naming a scale; Fahrenheit is the only reading the value admits. The second pour's cue is stated as a 0:30–0:45 window rather than a point, so that step carries no time. The brew is deliberately strong — Equator expect it to be diluted with hot water or milk to taste.
